"Never Quit, Mission for PPROM Change"

Before I left the hospital, when I lost my firstborn baby Sinead, I held and kissed her goodbye and told her, "I will change how they look after pregnant women who lose their waters early in pregnancy." I often wonder what my life would look like if she had not died and what it would look like if I had never lost my waters early. I was sent home when I should have been admitted to hospital. If my GP, prior to my waters going, had treated a simple urine infection correctly, I would never have had PPROM.

I stand tall knowing I am helping improve women's health in pregnancy for this condition which is so unknown.

PPROM changed my life, losing Sinead broke me, Little Heartbeats has been her unheard cry and voice; had I been cared for in my pregnancy, I may not have lost her. Tomorrow we will be meeting some incredible women and their families who have been through this condition, I hope we do you all proud. Thank you to every single mum who has given us permission for our new banner. I will show this off tomorrow. Thank you to every single woman and their partners for agreeing to come up to Liverpool to meet us, I hope you are proud of us and the doctors who said yes to researching PPROM, I hope you are as overwhelmed and for the first time can say I am proud of this achievement, one day our work will be acknowledged by the government and bodies in this field. Over the years I was told many times to quit.

Over the years I have cried to these doctors, I have poured my heart out and worn my heart on my sleeve, I did this for you, to the very women going through this now, know you can speak up and ask for improved care. Tell doctors to look at our research and if you are well within yourself know you can continue. If you are not well within yourself, no matter your gestation, then it is time to talk about birth, which is never easy or the easy option. But know we are holding your hand.

Sending tons of Love
